Writing  Facts

I listen to classical music when I write.

I love doing research for my stories.

I fuel my creativity with Taco Bell burritos and sweet tea.

I began writing as a pantser but am more of a plotter these days.

I enjoy editing almost as much as the writing.

I write at home in front of my awesome 21 inch iMac and love the speed and feel of its hi-tech aluminum keyboard.

I sometimes act out my scenes and send our two skitty kitties running for cover.

I have an incredibly supportive hubby who's also my best plotting partner.

I prefer to edit on hard copy.

I'm a character-driven writer.
I'm a native Californian and have lived here most of my life. I spent about eighteen months in Washington state and four and a half incredible years in Germany. My husband taught U.S. Army dependents at a military high school.

We lived in Europe at an exciting time–just as the Wall came down and the Cold War ended. Our daughter was born in the 1,000 year-old city of Nürnberg just one block from its castle fortress.

In 1993 our little family headed back to the States with a cuckoo clock, a living room full of German furniture and a treasure store of memories. No BMW though. We sold our used one before we returned.

We settled in the heart of California's Gold Country in the oak-studded Sierra Foothills about eight miles from Coloma, where James Marshall discovered the first gold nugget at Sutter's Mill. My husband continues to teach high school in the community. Our daughter is a first-year college student.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy spending time with my family. I'm a member of my local Toastmasters club. I still read romance novels, although not as many as I'd like. On rare occasions I scrapbook.

I avoid housework as long as possible but will finally tackle it when the dust bunnies threaten to take over or Mount McLaundry has reached avalanche warning stage. Writing is just so much more fun. I've been crafting stories since January 2006.

I'm a Taco Bell addict. Really. The staff knows my order by heart.

My major weaknesses are Coach bags, books, and office supplies.

I've never met an organizational gizmo I didn't need.
